Red Bull Ring

The inaugural season of the GT Endurance Cup Europe got underway at the iconic Red Bull Ring with a spectacular six-hour endurance race. A packed grid of over 40 GT3 cars battled across three fiercely contested classes PRO, PRO-AM, and AM setting the stage for what promises to be an incredible championship.

With its three long straights and heavy braking zones, the Red Bull Ring provided the perfect venue to kick off the season, delivering countless overtaking opportunities, strategic battles, and clean, respectful racing throughout the field.

Overall (PRO)

Team Racing Point's #16 Lamborghini emerged victorious after an impressive recovery drive. Despite suffering several setbacks during the middle stages of the race, the team remained composed, executed their strategy perfectly, and fought back to claim the first overall win of the championship.

Ronin PT secured second place with their McLaren 720S GT3 after a clean and consistent race. Staying out of trouble and maintaining strong pace throughout the six hours proved enough to secure a well-earned runner-up finish.

Project 91 Racing Team's #91 machine looked capable of challenging for both victory and second place before a late drive-through penalty temporarily dropped the team to fourth. Refusing to give up, they mounted an excellent recovery to finish on the final step of the podium in third.

PRO-AM

Kronos Simsports claimed victory in the PRO-AM class after delivering one of the most disciplined performances of the race. Consistent pace, smart decision-making in traffic, and a well-executed strategy allowed them to stay clear of incidents and take maximum points from the opening round.

AM

The AM class produced one of the most dramatic finishes of the event. Delta Racing initially crossed the finish line first following an excellent strategic drive and flawless execution. However, a post-race disqualification promoted the #62 Paul Botting Motorsport entry to the class victory, giving them the first AM class win in GT Endurance Cup Europe history.

Looking Ahead

Round 1 delivered everything endurance racing fans could ask for close battles, strategic racing, dramatic twists, and outstanding sportsmanship across all three classes. With the championship now underway, attention turns to Round 2, a gruelling 24 hours at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in early July, where teams will once again go head-to-head in one of the world's greatest endurance racing venues.
